History of Guy
The British company "Guy" was founded in 1914, specialising in buses and passenger cars. However, in 1919, the firm's management switch all power factory for the creation and production of a car. So there was Guy GB1, luxury vehicle, equipped with eight-cylinder 4-liter power unit, with a capacity of 60 horsepower. The car was collected manually, and some parts were specially made using a hand press, which in those years was considered exorbitant luxury. The first model has received a lot of positive feedback, and every self-respecting manufacturer Britain tried to buy one of these cars.
In 1922 come simplified model, equipped with a 2.5-liter engine, with a capacity of 30 horsepower, and in 1923 the smart car Guy 13/36 with a three-liter four-cylinder engine that is aimed at the middle class. However, the economic crisis has badly affects the welfare of the company and in 1929 the firm switches to the production of buses and light trucks.
